I have been a long-time holder of Vayner Sports Pass NFT. The collection originally started as an access card to enter into sweepstakes for premium sporting events like the Superbowl, March Madness, NHL Games, Baseball Playoffs, UFC PPV, The Masters, and of course the US OPEN. Holders were also offered full access VIP Party with VAYNER Athletes, hangouts on Podcasts, and much more (cough cough wildcard game). The project has since ADDED a rewards program. This pivot is a direct result of crypto winter. Nobody is buying NFT in abundance, and until Magic Eden enforces royalties, projects cannot sustain themselves without some sort of revenue stream. Enter the “Point of Purchase” discussion & REWARDS!
If you have been in the NFT ecosystem for any sort of time, you have felt the shift from PFP to fine art to memes to music to now rewards for holding. This has been a popular term … “staking” in the “defi” world for many years. I think of this as a “long-term” holding position where I plan to keep those assets in a hold pattern for more than 1 year. Some staking protocols call for longer and some are shorter. Be sure to pay attention to the length of time your assets must remain staked. Well, when you “stake” there is an expectation of rewards at the end. That puts us in a weird position with the SEC. Security or nah? Well, if there is an expectation of rewards without “action” then you land in security land.
Here’s a the legal way to do it (and most of your Credit Cards do this now). Think about your cash-back rewards cards. We establish a Point of Purchase and the business can start to reward those customers. Well, Ron … How would I reward those customers? They have not filled out any customer profile data so how do I know who they are or where to send their gifts?
Well, reader … we volunteered that data on our customer profile on VSP !
We have all those VSP NFTs residing on the blockchain (another day we will talk about that network but not today) in our wallet which is ALSO attached to our customer profile on the VSP site.
Now the math. How many points do I get? Well, depends on how rare your VSPASS is, how many hats you snag, and your participation in season 0 gets you a bonus of 100 points. More rare more points. More hats, more points (max of 5 hats/season). Here is a quick breakdown of those points.
WEN CAN I GET MY CAPS?
NOW!
Now that you are logged into your VSPASS account, you’re ready to buy some caps and start earning your points. Below, I will show you how to get the right links, buy a VSP hat, get rewards points, and start winning sweepstakes (at least try to :p)
I hope that you find this type of tutorial style video helpful. I know I learn by seeing and doing and when my screen doesn’t look like the one I’m watching, it gives me pause and you should too! Stay safe, dont give anyone your seed phrase, and drink plenty of water (but not after 8PM if you’re like me you’ll be up at 3am). See you Sunday!
This was a sneaky drop for you all who signed up early! Let me know what you think!
